The first thing I thought of when reading the title is my point of idiocy...being too reticent. I travel half-way around the world and then often I find myself too shy to ask for assistance, for directions, for favors, etc. I was in Estonia and never enjoyed the pleasures of a Finnish sauna, because I would not ask someone about how to use it.
