I mostly choose a topic that sounds like it would be fun to write about — fun or interesting to share. And also one that I know quite a bit about. BUT…as you probably have seen, I am not a prolific writer by any stretch of the imagination. Part of that is because, once I choose a topic, I spend a lot of time — sometimes days — mulling it over and coming up with ideas of how to go about it.

Sometimes I may decide to write about a topic that people have asked me about, like my current series on travel planning. That has been a huge task — taking me weeks to write it “just so” or the way I want it to LOOK.

Also, I rarely use stock images, which means digging through my own photos or designing/editing images to fit with the prose.

I guess you would call me a SSSSSLLLLLOOOOWWWW writer!

But it is GREAT to have that long list, so I have lots of options and ideas to choose from.
